FOXTON FIRE BOARD.
The quarterly meeting of the Foxton Fire Board was held yesterday. Present : Messrs Chrystall. (chairman), Hornblow, A. N. Smith, Cray, Bews, Row and the secretary (Mr Frajikland). Apology for abence was received from Mr Bryant. The superintendent- (Mr McDermid) and architect (Mr West) were also in attendance. . Formal correspondence was read and dealt with. . The amended plans and specifications for the fire station were submitted by the architect and discussed at length and were finally adopted’ and tenders authorised to be called for the erection of the building. The deed for the purchase of the section in Hall Street was implemented. The question of- finance was discussed 'find it was decided to raise the money required for capital expenditure by debentures bearing interest at 5i per cut. foi’ a peiiod of five years. Arrangemnts were made for sinking fund to be lodged with the Public Trustee and depreciation. - The superintendent’s report was read and adopted and regulations laid down for charges in attendance at fires outside the borough area. Other routine business was dealt with.
