FOXTON SILVER BAND SOCIETY INCORPORATED.
Application for the incorporation by the above society, together with copies of the rules, have been lodged with the Registrar, in Wellington. In accordance with the undermentioned resolutions, it is the band’s immediate intention to apply to the Borough Council to relinquish its office of trusteeship of the band’s instruments, and to appeal to the Council and general public for a practice room and for public co-operation and assistance in the acquiring of a full complement of modern instruments and uniforms. The objects of the band will be the promotion of musical recreation and study to members and to promote public enjoyment. The officials of the new band are Messrs J. Holder conductor and bandmaster, R. T. Betty (deputybandmaster) 'and J. Aitehison, chairman. The matter of forming a Citizen’s Band is also under consideration and it is hoped that a union of the two parties will be effected in order to make one united band worthy of the town.
