Trueman: committee: Me.sdames S. Austin, Christie, Cowley, Chrystnll, K. Easton, Freeman, Hynes, F. McDonald. A. Ross, Rowley, Symons, and Wyllie. The secretary was accorded a vote of thanks for I lie clear and concise report .submitted. It was agreed to meet on the second .Monday in each month. The balance-sheet showed receipts £7O 17s 2d (donations £lB Ns -Id, sli op day and social afternoon £-13 3s 4d, subscription £8 ss, literature 14/0). The expenditure was £7O 2s l()d leaving a credit balance to carry forward of 14/4. The report dealt with the operations of the society since its inception and sinled, inter alia, that the anise paid her lirst ntlieial visit on November 11th, 1921 and up till October 31st, 1922, had made 51 weekly visits. During the year the office was visited by 488 babies; 499 adults, ami the nurse made 32 visits to homes. The figures prove that the work of the society has been appreciated by tin* mothers of Foxton and we have every expectation that the coining year will he even more successful. We wish to point out, thiit the nurse’s time in Foxton is not always fully occupied, and that Nurse Kearns is always willing to visit homes if necessary, for which there is no charge whatever. The committee desire p, record its appreciii t ion of Airs (’. A. Pearson’s kindness in providing a room for the society, and in giving the lirst six months free of charge; Messrs Madge Bros, for conveying the nurse from and to Palmerston free; ALr Kirkland. Air Perreau and Alts Walls for luncheon and afternoon tests for the nurse; Mr Robertson for tlie loan of scales; Mr Trueman for auditing the books, and the Mnnawatu Herald for publicity given to tin* society’s operations. The committee si Iso thank all those who gave donations and those who helped and supported the various efforts made hv the society to raise funds. Now that the public ol Foxton have experienced tin* benefits of having a branch of the society in their midst, we fee] eon- I (blent that the support so gencr- t ousl v given during the past yea i j will also be accorded during the

coming year; for we wish to point out that the society is entirely dependent on voluntary subscriptions for it's maintenance.
