HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

SPRING SHOW

The local Horticultural Society’s Spring show was opened in the Town Hall this afternoon by the president. Rev. W. Walton, and will be continued this evening and to-morrow afternoon and evening. The entries this year total about TOO, .which is very satisfactory. The cut blooms provide a line display. The cookery sections comprise one of the best collective exhibits yet shown. Vegetables are also well shown. The decorative classes are well up Ip previous high standards and the exhibition as a whole mantains a high standard. Apart from the exhibition patrons will 1)0 catered for in the tea rooms. It is hoped that, the public will show their appreciation of the society’s work by large attendances both this evening and to-morrow.
