FOXTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

SUMMER SHOW.

Arrangements are now well in hand for the Foxton Horticultural Association’s Summer Show to be held on Thursday and Friday of next week. The early spring and recent rain has In’ought everything on well, and it is confidently anticipated that the Society’s reputation of past years for variety and quality of exhibits will he well maintained. A perusal of the schedules which were issued last week, will show that the response to the appeals for prizes has been very gratifying. There are many fine trophies for competition, and a large number of special and points prizes. There are classes for all kinds of products of the garden, and no matter what your blooms or vegetables are like, enter them. It only costs you 6d and it is well worth while, whether you win a prize or not. Try your skill at decorating, also, and put in that piece of fancy work your friends admire..

The school-work this year is being done at rather short notice, but the children are keen to compete as usual and with the co-operation of the teachers, it is expected there will be a very fair number of entries.

The cottage gardens are included again this year, and everyone who has developed a good flower or vegetable garden should not fail to enter it. Entries for these classes close on Friday (to-morrow). No effort will be spared to make this show attractive and enjoyable to ibc public. Entries will be received by the secretary at Ross’ buildings on Wednesday, 22nd. inst., until 9 p.m. Intending exhibitors should obtain schedules and entry forms from the secretary (Mr H. Frnnkland) wit limit delav. ■
