Upon the opening of his campaign on Wednesday evening* Mr Linklater, the Reform candidate for Manawatu, addressed a large ampjr''" attentive audience at the Kniranga Hall. Mr D. Collis occupied the chair and in a few well-chosen eulogistic remarks introduced Air Linklater to the audience, and briefly outlined his career in local body matters. Mr Linklater, before delivering his address said how much lie regretted Air Newman’s retirement,, what, a good member he had been in the House, and how ably he had filled the position as member for the district.
