FOXTON TENNIS CLUB.

SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING

A special general meeting wall eld in the Montoa Buildings 01 Monday evening last, Mr McMumn occupying the chair. A special resolution was unanimously passed to adopt the proposal, that in future the Foxton Lawt: Tennis Club he an Incorporated Society and known as the Foxton Tennis Club Incorporated, the registered office of which shall be situated in the cluh’s local property. A motion was passed adopting the proposal that the title deed of the section be transferred from thi trustees to the Foxton Tennis Club. The following new members were elected: —Misses 0. Banks, E. Purnell, J. Liggins, -J. McMurray, M Dclany, M. Admore, Mrs Trueman Messrs W. H. Robinson, W. Trueman and Dr. Hooper. The meeting then concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair, .VOTES. Ladder Matches Played:—R. McMurray 50, E. P. Jackson 30; Miss A. Strand 40, Miss H. Mackie 21; Miss A. Strand 42, Miss E. Owen 40. In order that the Match Committoo may arrange handicaps for challenge trophies, players are requested to get in as many games as possible by loth November. It should be observed that these matches are not to be played on Wednesday or Saturday afternoons, and ii|> to 4 p.m. only on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. A team of six men and four ladies from the Shannon Club visited Foxton yesterday to play the home team in the Ist round of the “Country Cup Competition,” but owing to the squally weather, the match had to be abandoned, when only two games were • completed. As this match must be played by 30th November, Shannon team hopes to pay another visit shortly for a match at an early date, to contest the Newman Cup, which they, Shannon, won recently from the Bulls Tennis Club.
