At the first fence Pacific Slope came down, and Cerberus at the second, and Sir Wai at the third. Black Art went very fast over the first six furlongs, but bad jumping then beat him, and Otauru lvid went out with n good lead. Down the back, Sir Fanciful and Fisher were the nearest to him, but the riderless Cerberus was -retarding them. Otauru Kid entered the straight full of running, and won easily by three lengths from Sir Fanciful. Kyoto was a fair third, and then came Fisher, Black Art, and Mattock.
