LABOUR DAY TOURNAMENT
Oil Monday next (Labour Day) lire local club will hold a competitions and' tournament day on the green. In the morning, commencing at 10 o'clock, drawing and driving competitions will be held, and the afternoon will be devoted to a pairs tournament. An invitation lias been issued to Levin and Shannon Clubs to ]>e represented. On AAVdnesday last llie ball was >ei rolling in llie Nye Ferns mulches this season, a rink skipped by Bryant, challenging llie holders from las) season (Roore’s rink). The game resulted in llie holders retaining the trophies by a margin of 12 points. The following are the del a ils,— Parkin, Pearson, Smith, Roore (s) (holders), 24: Barr, Spring, Jno. Ross, Bryant (s), 12. A further challenge has been posted, llie rink consisting of Ball, F. AA’hildey, Nye and Christie (s). Entries are now being taken tor tlie AYilford Cup Singles Competition. The conditions of play will be similar to those observed last year. The secretary of the local club l,r,s received from Hamilton a programme of the Hamilton First Annual Challenge Clip Open Tournament,' to be held in that town on December sth, (Itli, <th, and Bth, under llie auspices of tlie combined bowling clubs. Entries for sameclose oil Saturday, November 25th. Details of the tournament may be seen at the Foxton Club's pavilion, where the poster is displayed.
