RIFLE SHOOTING
A practice "shoot, postponed from , the previous Saturday on account j of rain, was held last Saturday, at | 500 yards. Considering the strong, j gusty west wind that was blowing, I the scores, as under, were quite j good. I S. Head 45, S. J. Hartley 45, H. Frankland 43, A. W. Barnard 42, j Svmons 40, C. Rand 39.
The new target shod, constructed , of wood and iron, was finished last week, and is very satisfactory. It will provide much safer and more convenient housing for targets and ('•ear. ll is intended to erect a j shelter shed between 500 and 000 Yards with sections of the old shed. |
After the next shoot, to be held | at 600 yards, next Saturday, a ; Committee meeting will be called to consider details of the first trophy shoot. This will be for trophies of the value of £2, donated by F. Rob- j inson Esq. (Patron). ! In order to have a successful season it is hoped that attendances at trophy shoots will be larger than (ltev have been so far.
