FIRE BOARD.

A. further meeting of the local representatives of the Foxton Fire Board was held last night when the chairman (Mr Chrystall) and Messrs Bryant, Homblow, Smith and the secretary (Mr H. Frankland) were in attendance. The chairman reported that he had conferred with the architect in respect to the suggested alterations to the plans, which would increase the cost of construction by about £25. In order to encourage the brigade he was anxious that the plans should now be forwarded for approval by the Wellington members and Superintendent Hugo. It was decided to adopt the plans and to make certain recommendations to the Wellington members as suggested. Upon the approval of the plans, tenders will be called immediately for the erection of the building.
