ACCIDENTS & FATALITIES.
TI-MARU, Oct. 2. An inquest was opened at Tenuika to-day before the Coroner. Mr Mosley, into the death ol a newly-born infant, who was found in a tin box tied with rope in a house at Winchester. Two days previously a domestic .servant, aged about eighteen years, leit the employment of the owner oi the house and afterwards admitted the child was hers. An adjournment was made owing to the condition of the mother. „ TIMARU, Oct. 2. Ebenczer Vincent, the victim of the Pareora shooting case, died this morning. CHRISTCHURCH, Oct. 3. 11. W. Wilkin, accountant at Lyttelton. fell from an early train in the Lyttelton tunnel and was in the tunnel when the up train passed through, lie managed to walk out of the tunnel, although suffering front a broken elbow itnd bruises. He lias been admitted to the hospital.
