NEWSPAPER INSURANCE.
CRAZE IN GREAT BRITAIN. LONDON, Sept. 28. The Standard suites that the newspaper insurance craze lias reached tile stage ol a new “South Sea Bubble,” and probably it will burst soon, leaving a nasty odour behind. It declares the insurance companies are sick ol the business and that none will continue beyond the present contracts. The companies are Hooded with bogus claims, with the result that newspaper insurance is ending disastrously for the newspapers and the public, and liquidation must bring a certain stigma on otherwise reputable journalism.—A. and N.Z. cable.
