PRINCE ON GOLF LINKS.
LONDON, Sept. 27. In drizzling rain a. crowd of 5000 assembled to see. the Prince <>f Wales play, himself in as captain of the Koval Ancient. Club by driving a ball from the first tee of the old course. The Prince, with Andrew Kirkcaldy acting as caddie, dioye a good ball down the middle of the fairway. A scrummage followed .tor possession of the ball, which a local chibmaker retrieved and handed over to the Prince, receiving a handshake and a sovereign. The Prince later played a round in the competition.—A. ami N.Z. cable. LONDON. Kepi. 28. The Prince of Wales at St. Andrews played Boolhby, the retiring captain, who gave the Prince a stroke and a hole. An excellent game ensued, the Prince losing by a hole. Later ho played a round in the competition for the William IV medal, and put in some splendid drives, including one of 220 yards. —A. and N.Z. cable.
