PATRIOTIC FUNDS.
LOCAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the local Advisory Committee of the War Funds Council was held on Thursday night. Present: Messrs AY. E. Barber (chairman), Chiystall, Ilornblow. Thomson, Huntley, Mrs McMurray, Miss Sewell, and the Secretary (Mr Trueman). The Secretary reported that he had forwarded the boundaries of the Foxton district to headquarter-. which would be a guide to other adjacent societies in dealing with applications for relief. The statement of the Society's limmcial position at the time of transferring the funds to the War Funds Council had been audited, and the audit fee of two guineas was passed for payment. During the month there had not been any applications for relief, but several eases had been attended to on behalf of other societies. On the motion of Mr Chrystall, it was unanimously decided to meet quarterly, instead of monthly, after next meeting, the Chairman to convene special meetings when neces>arv.
