AEROPLANE CRASHES.
SIX OFFICERS KILLED. ACCfDENT DURI N( 1 MANOEUVH ES. NEW YORK, Sept. 24. Six army officers were killed when during a night aerial sham battle manoeuvres a big Martin bomber aeroplane crashed to earth and burst into flames before 25,000 spectators. The scene was illuminated by powerful searchlights. The spectators rushed to the machine, but were unable to approach closely owing to the raging lire, which quickly consumed the aeroplane.—A. and N.Z. cable.
