THE FAMOUS DIGGERS NEW REAL GIRL SHOW.
TOWN HALL, TO-NIGHT. The new revusical programme of the Famous Diggers re-organised real girl show is packed full of tang and the rich savour of humour, delicate and breezy, piquant yet refined. The management claims most justly that there is always an absence of anything offensive to the most puritanical of their patrons and that is why they have come to he regarded as a “family” show. Their new revue is replete with novel items, beautiful scenery, richly tinted dresses and the song numbers have all been chosen with great discrimination. “The Rest Cure,” a funny sketch in which doe Valli gets anything hut rest, is most comical. “The Bride’s Trousseau” serves to introduce Jimmy Norton, a really great English comedian who tours New Zealand for the first time. “In Old Manila,” a gorgeous song feature, suug exclusively by Claire Gooiey, will be beautifully produced with special scenery by Wil Beck, who,' by the way, is painting six most gorgeous scenes for the new programme. “The Butterfly Ballet” is a delightful repast for the eye. “The Roof Garden” scene is chock full of good things, and the girls in fantastic carnival attire make a whirling mass of variegated colour. “The Vamp, the Purse and the Man” is, as its name suggests, a smart piece of comedy, and “Breaking into Gaol” is one of those clever bits of satire reminiscent of 0. Henry’s stories. “Pins” is a short sketch which was recently done at the Trivoli Theatre, Sydney, by Lee White, is another thing which is sure to make a hit. Latest song hits such as “Amazon,” “All by Myself,” Whose Baby are You,” “April Showers” and others will he introduced by the Diggers to the accompaniment- of their excellent orchestra.
