ATTACKS BY IRREGULARS.
IRISH CASTLE DESTROYED. MACHINE-GUNS IN MEATH. LONDON, Sept. 18. The Irregulars attacked the Narrow Water Castle, Lough Carlingford, occupied by special constabulary. The castle was subsequently burnt. The Irregulars concurrently attacked the Free State garrison in Meath, using machine-guns, but the garrison successfully kept the Irregulars at bay for two hours, after which the Irregulars withdrew. —A. and N.Z. cable.
