Reports from the Ladies’ Social Guild and P.W.M.U. gave evidence of continued activity and progress. The office-bearers at Rangiotu and Glen Oroua were re-elected, as was the Foxton Committee with the addition of Messrs Thorp and I. Ross. The Management Committee authorised alterations and improvements to the manse, which were to be proceeded with at once. The sale of a section adjoining the manse, and the Beach section, were agreed to, and a sub-committee was appointed to deal with these matters. The Rev. McDonald, in addressing the congregation, thanked them for their co-operation. He said he hoped to meet many of the congregation during his visitation at an early date. He had been requested . to conduct services at Rongotea, and had met those interested. The Anglican authorities had offered their church rent free for the services, subject to the consent of the Bishop. This extra service would mean his conducting four services once a fortnight, as the Glen Oroua services would not be interfered with. He made reference to the establishment of a Sabbath school at the seaside, which was being conducted by Mrs Larsen, with an attendance of 15 children. He touched on several other points of interest. At the conclusion of the meeting the ladies served a tasty supper.
