FOXTON FIRE BOARD.

A meeting of the local members of the Fire Board was held last evening, Mr J. Chrystall (chairman) presiding. In regard to site for Fire Station, it was decided, on the motion of Messrs Bryant and Smith, to accept Mr F. S. Easton’s offer of his section in Hall Street for the sum of £IOO. This section is about 60 feet by 100 feet, and should prove very suitable for the new- Fire Station. With respect to the loan for capital expenditure, it was decided that debentures totalling £1,450,, paying interest at 6 per cent, per annum be printed immediately. Superintendent McDermid was in attendance and requested the Board to purchase two or three necessary articles of equipment, w-liieh was sanctioned. A full meeting of the Board will be held at Foxton on the 23rd inst
