THE SEASIDE RESORT.
The local seaside resort is growing in popularity and is attracting people from all parts of the province during the summer months. The sea beach is ideal and comparatively safe for surf bathing and the miles of smooth sandy foreshore, devoid of rocks, makes it ideal walking and sun baths. Then there i- the river foreshore with shallow and safe water for bathing facing the dwellings. The trees planted are making splendid progress and in the course of a few years will afford ample shelter and add to the attractiveness of-Ilie seaside. There is a tine stretch of water for boating and in calm weather good fishing is obtained over the bar. Since last year several houses have been erected and the Harbour Board are arranging for the sale of more sections. In this connection it is hoped that the Board will put a --top to the speculator. It should be made illegal for any person to own more than one section and the building clause should be strictly enforced. A new entrance to the river foreshore requires attention and could lie done by making a deviation about 200 yards from the corner to come out opposite the hall and thus avoid the drift at the present cutting which prevents many cars from going on to the foreshore. Practically all the houses have been booked f»r the Christmas holidays.
