REBELS ATTACK MACROOM
RETREAT IN DISORDER. LONDON, Sept. 4. Three hundred rebels, with ten-machine-guns, two armoured cars and u trench mortar, concentraredly attacked Macrooni, but were repulsed, and after 81 hours’ fighting they retreated in disorder. The Free Slitters lost two killed and two wounded. The rebels suffered heavy casualties.—A. and N.Z. cable.
