SUGGESTION FOR COMPROMISE. LONDON, Sept. 4. The Irish Labour Party intends to press the Government either to prove that the revolt has been crushed or to compromise with the rebels. The majority of the Govermnenf favour continuing the war to the end and are even disposed to introduce more drastic methods than those adopted by Mr Collins, but it is doubtful if. in view of the terrible economic conditions, if they can resist the Labour demand for peace, unemployment, relief and food for the devastated areas. —A. and N.Z. cable.
