WRECKAGE ON COAST.
NOT LONG IN WATER. BELIEVED FROM SAILING VESSEL. AUCKLAND. Aug. 31. Wreckage which is reported to have drifted ashore on the West Coast, about four miles south of Ivaipara Heads, is described as part of the deck of a sailing vessel.' The planking is six bv fourinch Oregon, and does not look as though it has been long in the water. The beams attached to the decking are fastened with galvanised iron bolts. An iron ringbolt attached to the wreckage is hardlv rusted.
A search is being made to ascertain if any more wreckage has come ashore.
