RACECOURSE EXCURSIONS.
CRITICISMS OF THE LAW. Reference l<> tho exclusion of eenain people from racecourses was made by Mr C. E. Armstrong at the annual meeting of the Hamilton Racing Club last week. Mr Armstrong said tlial while he quite believed in keeping the sport clean, lie lie, light it wrong tha' men who bad made a slip in the past and had since become reputable citizens should be excluded from racecourses. He thought something should be done in the way of making it possible for such men to enjoy the sport. The |.resident, .Mr G. W. Vercoe, said they could only send a remit to the Racing C'onforenoci. Mr W. I. Conradi said the present law was too drastic, as many were excluded front the racecourses when they would be admitted to other social functions or to any church. It seemed that because a man hail committed some offence and been punished for it, that be was to be harrassed for the rest of his life. The president said that after this expression of opinion by members, the committee no doubt would forward a remit to the proper quarter.
