COMPANIES’ CASE CONCLUDED.

Wellington, Last Night

Before the Arbitration Court in connection with the shipping dispute, Mr Norris Falla, traffic manager of the Union Company was the principal witness. He stated that trade had fallen off and several vessels had had to be laid up. It was impossible to find employment for all the seamen. If freights were reduced business would improve. Witness declined to give details of the company’s business.

The companies’ case lias concluded and the union’s case opens tomorrow.
