RIFLE CLUB.
A meeting of the Foxton Rifle Brigade was held in the l’oxton Motor and Engineering Co.’s garage last night. There was a fair attendance of members present and Mr S. Head presided. A letter was received from the secretary of the X.Z. Rifle Clubs Executive enclosing receipt for sub. —Received. Minutes of a meeting of Rifle Clubs held at Otaki on July 29th for the purpose of forming an Association were read. —Decided to forward the Association £1 for affiliation. AX.Vf.U. MEETING. Decided to hold the annual meeting early in September. The question of renovating the Rifle Club’s shed at the butts was brought up and discussed at length. All- Walsh was of the opinion that the Borough Council should' give some assistance in the matter. It appeared to him that the Council was not interested in tlie affairs of the club.
- Mr Rand said that the Council had not been approached during the past year by the club to his knowledge. They had bad nothing definite before them.
Tl was decided that a “working bee" -Iton hi be formed and the work of clearing the range be proceeded with at once.
