CIRCUIT. REPORT,
Circuit also reveals progress. Services in Foxton have been well maintained compared with previous years. Shannon and Oroua Downs report, steady progress. A night service has been commenced once a month at Oroua, Downs with an attendance of upwards of 50. A service every other Sunday night at Shannon has also been started with a well filled church. Sunday schools throughout the circuit show marked increases on roll and in attendance. The Shannon members evolved a scheme for a car for the minister’s use and also for maintaining extra services in the district. The scheme has been accepted and financed by some of our members. The car is ordered and we expect delivery this week. Whilst we thank all for assistance in circuit work, we would especially mention one or two cases. Our best thanks are idue to Mr F. Rout, of Shannon mail service, for his aid in conveying the minister and his wife to and from Shannon on many occasions on church work and this free of cost to the Church. A new motor shed has been erected at the parsonage at .a validation of £6O. This has cost only a very few-pounds for material required/ .We thank Mr Banks and his assistant, Mr Minifie, for making this work possible. Finally we appeal* to our people in regard to the future. Our Church will progress just to the extent to which we, as individual members, do our part.”
Owing to the exceedingly wet night last Sunday evening it was decided to postpone the special anniversary service. This service will be held,, to-morrow evening at the Methodist Church. The choir apart from leading the singing in anniversary hymns, will also contribute special hymns. A very bright,* attractive service is guaranteed.
