GATHERING OF SCIENTISTS.
AUSTRALIAN ARRANGEMENTS. SYDNEY, Aug. 18. The Australian Research Council has considered and heartily supported the proposal to -hold a Pan-Pacific Scientific Conference in Sydney and Melbourne next year. The Commonwealth Government has promised £SOOO towards the cost. Professor David stated that an invitation to attend had been accepted by the United States. The National Research Council was making arrangements to send general invitations. The meeting discussed the scope of the conference, and decided to add the officers of the Council of Research to the existing Pan-Pacific Conference to make the necessary arrangements.— Press Association.
