OFFICIAL ASSIGNEE CHARGED.
TWELVE ALLEGED DEFALCATIONS. Gisborne. Last Night. Twelve charges of defalcations in respect to various bankrupt estates, totalling £IOB, 'were preferred against William Leonard Butler, late deputy official assignee, at the Magistrate’s Court. Accused .pleaded guilty to the charge in the tirst case called on, and was committed for sentence. The other cases are proceeding. Later, after evidence concerning these, accused pleaded guilty to all charges and was committed to _fhe Supreme Court for sentence.
