The latest imitator of tho “Cobbler of Koopenick” held a “Black Maria, ”■ full of prisoners, in a Berlin street, declaring himself a police inspector, and showing a budge on his coat lapel. He got up beside the driver, and when the vehicle reached the prison the officials there were equally deceived, obeying every order of tho socalled inspector, who toured the cells, ordered tins prisoner a good meal and that ono a better bed, also that several others should be liberated immediately. He next ordered the governor ot the prison out of bed, and reprimanded him severely for his bad management of tho prison. Before complete chaos was reached, ono of the gaolers closely scrutinised the badge, and found it to be a political propaganda badge inscribed: “Remember Upper Silesia.” Ihe man wasi arrested, and proved to he a Berlin tailor. —A. and N.Z. cable.
