PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.

A most successful sale of work and social evening, organised by the, lady members, of the Presbyterian Church was held in the schoolroom yesterday. The stalls, although of a modest character, were well patronised and except for a few articles, everything was disposed of. The attendance was of a representative Character, and was good both in the afternoon and evening. In the evening musical items were contributed and community singing heartily indulged in. The nail-driv-ing, competition, the prize for which was a handsome table centre, the gift of Mrs Healey, was won by Mrs Delaney, after an interesting exhibition —the big nail went home in three hits! Mrs J. Ross’ competitions —spring outing—was won by Mrs Owen, and the basket ball competition was won by Mrs W. Symons. the cake nail driving was won by Mrs Bailey. Items were contributed by Mr Tongs, Miss Barker, Misses Patterson (2), Miss Delaney. Miss M. Stevenson, little Miss Hazel Owen (elocutionary item and song). Messrs Hornblow, lan Ross and Andy Reid.' A tasty supoer under the supervision of Mrs John Ross, was provided at the conclusion. 1
