FIRE AT SEA.
'NOW UNDER. CONTROL. 1 ' Wellington, Last Night. The Secretary-General' of the Post Office, announces receipt at 0.10 to-night by radio of the following message from the steamer Southgate, via Chatham Island: “Made distress' call at 4.40 p.m. Greenwich mean time yesterday. Cargo and hunkers on fire. ' Now fire under control and all, well.. At noon, position approximately latitude 42/25 south, longitude 145/50 west.”
