“ROYAL INDIA” AND LE ROI

AT ROYAL THEATRE. Commencing mi Thursday night at the Royal Theatre for two nights is a performance of marked ability, in t lie person of M. Jean Le Roi, a Freneh-Cnhadian entertainer who has won his laurels on the English and Continental stages for the cleanness of his manipulations and the dexterity with which he performs his tricks and illusions. Apart from his ability as a magician and illusionist, M. Le Roi is a fine lecturer, who grips his audience with his polished elocution. During his stay in Foxton Le Roi will lecture to the excellent picture—“ Royal India.” The great Indian Empire is a land of contrasts —from the rugged mountains on the northern border, where is the highest peak in the world, Mt. Everest, to the vast plain that stretches right down to the Indian Ocean —a vast plain which would cover New Zealand many times over. Interest abounds in this remarkable film, which deals with the grandeur and splendour of the Indian princes, views of the famous Mausoleum, the Taj Mahal, tiger hunting, elephant fighting, and many amazing scenes that will live in the memory of all who witness this fine production. Matinee Friday, at 2.30. Prices, matinee Is Id, children 6d; evening, Is Id and 2s 2d.
