OBITUARY.

MR GEORGE WOODROOFE SENR

The death of Mr Geiarge Woodroofe sent*, occurred at his residence- yesterday at Palmerston N. The deceased gentleman came to New Zealand in 1871 and for some years resided in Masterton subsequently removing to Palmerston N., and was identified with most of .the progressive movements there. The late Mr Woodroofe had reached the age of 73 years and enjoyed excellent health until quite recently. He was born in County Wicklow, Ireland, and in the year 1871 married Miss Susan Sebery in Dublin on the eve of emigrating to New Zealand. Mrs Woodroofe remains to mourn the loss of her life-long partner. A family of six sons (one of whom is Mr G. T. Woodroofe of Foxton), and three daughters was the issue of the marriage and they are well-known and highly respected in and around Palmerston N.
