WATER AND DRAINAGE LOAN.
Mr E. Newman, M.P., introduced a deputation to the Prime Minister on Thursday comprising of Mr Chrystall (Mayor of Foxton) and Councillor Whibley. The request was made that the advance of £5,000 due on the drainage loan be inci’eased to £IO,OOO to enable the Borough to meet its engagements in connection with drainage work and to pi’ovide woi’k for unemployed. Mr Massey received the proposal sympathetically, promising to look into the position and give his decision lately
