ROUND BUSH SCENIC RESERVE
INSPECTOR APPOINTED. The Round Bush Scenic Reserve, situate at Motuiti about three miles from Foxton, is the remnant of a once miignificient forest. The bush comprises portion of what was known as the Marine Reserve and when the Harbour Board was constituted it was handed over to the Board as an endowment. Representations were made to the Government to have the bush set aside as a scenic reserve and the Government acceded to the request and paid the sum of £440 for an ai'ea of 464 acres to the Board by way of compensation. The reserve is a magnificent asset to the district but in order to protect it from wandering stock and acts of vandalism it will require, to be securely- fenced and an entrance from the road provided. At a later date a full report will be submitted to the Minister in this connection. Mr Homblow has been appointed inspector of the reserve and will confer with the Harbour Board in reference to the work suggested anything definite ia done.
