Mitchell M.P., secretary of the Central Progress League, paid a visit to the Manga hao hydro-electric works. He informed a reporter that he was satisfied that at the present rate oi‘ progress, and providing no misfortune happens, such as a flood carrying away the Mangahao dam while in course of construction, the works would be ready as promised, and the power available by December of next year. One would like to feel assured, he said, thofcail the power boards l including Wellington, would be ready \j to receive it. It would be necessary ' for some of the power hoards, to show a great deal of energy if such a happy result was to be obtained.
