Shirley Mason in “Jackie,” a William Fox photoplay from he popular novel by Countess Barcynska, comes to the Royal to-night. The charming little screen actress enacts the role of a Russian waif in “Jackie.” The little refugee has made her way. to London, where she dreams of becoming a famous dau•cer. Her many changes of mood, of dress and of condition in life .are
said to give Miss Mason excellent opportunities. A second feature will lie “Bucking the Line." Maurice Flynn, football star, rover, adventurer, cattle raiser ami aviator, turned to motion pictures, and found he career lie wanted. He has been doing* much good work since being made a star by William Fox. His first starring picture is “Bucking the Line,” from a story by Francis Lyiule.
“Nobody” is the intriguing title of a new mystery melodrama, the starring feature at the Royal Theatre on Friday. The star of.the production is .Jewel Carmen playing the role of a young wife- who is a victim of nphase following a horrible experience on a launch. The story tells of a man who is mysteriously killed and bis cx-butler is indicted for the crime. A juror in the trial however, proves that the man is innocent and explains ho.w the murder was committed. The picture lias been elaborately produced and is enacted by" a strong cast. Many pleasing scenic ■ locations in the South have been shot as backgrounds. Win. Davidson is in the leading male role.
