ROYAL PICTURES
“Uncharted Seas," a Metro special adapted from the Munsey Magazine short story of John Fleming Wilson, comes to the Royal to-night. Alice Lake is in the stellar role. The marvellous combination of a gripping story from the pen of the above short story writer, and the supreme acting of Miss Lake is enough to insure an evening of unequalled pleasure and thrills to all (hat see it, and this is already borne out by the thousands who have seen (lie picture in other cities. As Lueretia Eastman, the young woman who gives her husband a last chance to regenerate himself, and prove that he is something else than an arrant' rotter and coward, Alice Lake has a role pre-eminently fitted to her powers.
To-morrow evening (Wednesday) Edith Roberts will be the attraction in “Opened Shutters,” her latest Universal screen play, in which she demonstrates her great dramatic versatility in a role of a totally different sort from the parts in which she is most often enjoyed. In “Opened Shutters,” Miss Roberts is seen as a girl who leaves her fathers funeral to go to his relatives in New England, whom she has pictured as kindly old people. Instead she finds them of the kind who are always eager to cast the first stone against those who vary from their own shallow code of propriety. “The Lure of the Circus” will be shown as an extra.
