A SPLENDID INVENTION.
COOKING WITHOUT FTRE. To cook a dinner without lire is a proposition that should appeal to every housewife. Not only is I here the saving in fuel, but there is also the- labour saved in stoking up the fire. But this device lms even stranger features: nothing can be overoverdonc, dr undergone, it this wonderful cooker! Again, once the dinner is put “on,” it requires no* further attention. A dinner consisting of, say, a roast of meal, potatoes, and other vegetables, together with some sweet or pudding, is all placed in the cooker at t'.e same time, say, two hours before dinner hour, and is never again looked at or interfered with t till desired to be served. Yet when removed from the cooker, everything is discovered'.to be done to a nicety. Another interesting feature is that ;i full hot dinner may be in the oookej’, and at the same time, in the same eookor, and only four inches away from Ihe roasting meat or boiling potatoes, ice cream may be freezing! All Ibis reads almost like a fairy story—but the proof of the pudding is' in the eating.” One of these cookers will be on display at the Town Hall at the Festal Fair on Thursday and Friday afternoon next. Ladies visiting the Fair will be given an opportunity at 3.15 in the afternoon of a demonstration. A dinner will he placed in the cooker at that hour, and will be served perfectly cooked at 5.15.
