There will he no pictures to-night. Harry Carey, acknowledged master of all “natural’:' Western pic-hire-plav stars, has completed his latest Universal Special Attraction, “Roped,” in which lie will appear at the Royal Theatre, to-morrow night in a role that is different from anything he has yet interpreted. “Roped” is a thrilling Western story, in which .much of the action lias an Eastern background, including New York’s “Great White Way,” with many incidents of a humorous character. In the play, Harry’s cowboys conclude that (lie Broken Arrow ranch needs, more than anything else, a woman. They insert a matrimonial advertisement in Harry’s name, and await results. Aileen Judson Brown, a beautiful Eastern girl, is forced by her mother, a dowager, lo answer the advertisement, the mother thinking Harry is wealthy. Harry comes East, meets the girl, falls in love with her, and weds her. Here it is that the story commences to get mixed. Mother-in-law attempts to oust Harry now in favour of another suitor, hut the cowboy husband, returning from a forced trip West, takes matters into his own hands, and ends hy carrying off his wife and baby for a belated honeymoon.
