ROYAL PICTURES.

Owen Moore, Selznick’s comedy star, who has taken his place in the front rank of screen comedians, will appear in “A Divorce of Convenience to-night. Despite the many rather serious escapades through which the star travels, “A Divorce of Convenience” is so little serious and so much farce that those who witness it soon fall into the habit of laughing, and it is safe to say that at its conclusion there will be few, if any, in the audience who are not reeking with laughter. The prices will be fid and Is Id.

On Friday the Royal Theatre will offer a new King Vidor production called “The .Jack Knife Alan.” The plot of this delightful story deals with a little-known locale in the Slates, and its quaint characters — a shanty boat colony along the banks of the Mississippi, while its central character, old Peter, the “Jack-Knife Alan,” has been drawn from life by the author—being a stage characterisation of his uncle. “The Jack Knife Alan” is a homely little tale, full of humour and pathos. It introduces many new characters to the screen, one of the most unique being the “crying woman.” Prices, 6d and Is Id, children half-price.
