ANNUAL MEETING OF FOXTON^SI J CLUB. \ /%' The annual meeting of the loxton Football Club was held in the Town ; Hall supper-room on Thursday night. There was a good attendance, presided over by Mr F. D. Whibley. , REPORT AND BALANCESHEET. The annual report was as follows: — “In presenting the balance-sheet . for the past year, your Committee desires to congratulate members on the successful-operations during the ,: year. The season started with, a credit balance of £24 9s (id; and. closed with a balance in hand of £lO 13s lid, a position which, in view of' the heavy expenses during the year, is highly satisfactory. In connection with their finances,. the Club is greatly indebted to ,Mrs George Small, through whose efforts in running regylar dances and a ball, no less a sum than £22 0s 7d found ias way into the coffers of the Club. >Mrs Small also entertained players ■' at two complimentary dinners at the close of the season, and-vonr Comdesire to place on record their keen appreciation of the assistance she lias rendered. A very disappo* s infing position is disclosed in con-» • nection with the payment of subscriptions by members, only £3 2s 0d having been received from this j source. Your Committee recommends the incoming committee to lake a firm stand during the coming season by refusing to allow players to take part in the games until thejr subscriptions are paid. During the season the Club entered senior, junior, third and fourth-grade teams in the Horowhcnua Union’s competitions.-' Of these, the third and fourth grade teams won their respective competitions, the juniors finished up third.in the Northern, Division, and the senior team, although well down in the competition, played some sterling games, but were very unlucky in having 'so \ many players disabled, which necessitated their calling on substitutes, and even playing short /handed in several matches. In conclusion, your Committee desires to thank all those who made donations to the Club’s funds, and assisted the Club in other directions, and express the. hope that next year’s operations will be even more successful than the past.” The balance-sheet showed receipts totalling £65 8s 7d, and the expenditure -£54 18s 4d, leaving a credit balance of £lO 13s lid.

No player would be allowed,on the field unless his sub. had been paid. Subscriptions were fixed at 5s for first, second and third grade ers, and Is for the fourths. J
