HARBOUR BOARD LEASES.

Mr Edward Newman, M.P., has received the following letter from the Hon. Mr Guthrie, Minister of Lands: — “I have to inform you that Section 51 of the Reserves, etc., and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1921-22, authorises the Foxton Harbour Board to grant renewals of certain existing leases for a further term of 14 years from the expiration thereof, and also to grant further building leases of part of the Pilot Reserve for a term not exceeding 33 years from the date of expiration thereof, with the right of renewal for a further term of 14 years, at such rents and profits and subject to such terms and conditions as the Board shall determine.”
