about this production, which has ■ the'frozen North and the gold fields of Alaska for its background. “The Beautiful Gambler,” Peter B. dyne’s sensational drama of the old west, is the principal attraction on Wednesday, with Grace Darmond, the blonde beauty of the screen, heading a specially selected cast.. The story was filmed at Universal City under the direction of William Worthington, and is one of the most powerful narratives * ever told on the silver sheet. A beautiful girl’s battle to sayedrer father from a mania of gambling, and the thrilling situation which compels her to auction herself off' to the highest bidder, are dramatic highlights, which help carry" the story to a climax as unexpected as it is forceful. As an extra, “The Lure of the Circus” will be shown. On Friday a special matinee for ladies only will be given, the special feature being “The End of the Road.” The evening screening will be for men only.
