Ai lasi night’s Council meeting, Cr. Walker moved that when the water pipes are being laid down in Main Street, the engineer be instructed to make provision for a drinking fountain, say, at the Triangle, at the north end of Main Street, and the same be erected as soon as possible after the water is laid on.

Cr. Walker, in speaking to the motion, said he did not consider the cost would be very great, while the fountain would be much appreciated. It would give people a chance of tasting Foxton artesian water. The motion was earned.
