FIRE BRIGADE.

The ordinary monthly meeting of Ihe Fire Brigade was held in Perreau’s Rooms on Tuesday night. Mr Perreau, in the absence of the Captain, was elected to the chair. The Secretary gave a brief outline of Inspector Hugo’s report, which was generally discussed. CORRESPONDENCE.

A letter was received from the Napier Fire Brigade Supplies Co., slating that they bad railed the exl ension ladder ordered by Ibe Brigade.

The Secretary pointed out that several other articles had been ordered ;it the same time, but no mention had been made of them, although two telegrams and a letter had been sent requesting them to' forward same immediately. It was decided to write to the Supplies Company, stating that if the articles ordered were not forthcoming by 'March 10th the order would be cancelled. •" RE-NAMING OF OFFICERS. , Mr Smith moved, seconded by Mr Hornblow, that the names of the officers of the Brigade be changed to those of Superintendent, DeputySuperintendent, and Foreman. — Carried. GENERAL. An account for 14s fid was passed for payment. It was decided that all Brigade members lie requested to attend the next ordinary meeting of the Borough Council as a deputation, to place before the Council the suggestions and recommendations of Inspector Hugo.
