FESTAL FAIR.

All the preliminary arrangements in connection with the forthcoming Festal Fair, . to be held in the Town Hall on Thursday and Friday, 30th and 31st March, and which is to take the place of the Annual Harvest Festival of the local Methodist Church, are now well in hand. The various stall holders are working enthusiastically. To stimulate interest among workers and the general public, a novel miniature queen carnival has been promoted, under the title of a “Rosebud Selection.” Each stall holder nominates as a candidate a little girl, seeking to secure for her by sale of votes prior to the Festal Fair, and by sales of goods at the Fair itself, the largest number of votes. Already there is very keen competition amid sevei’al of the Rosebud committees. Numerous novel competitions are being arranged for the occasion of the Fair, with attractive side shows which should cause much amusement and interest. It is not only the intention of the promoters to have well-stock-ed stalls, but to see that the goods are of a first sale order, giving thorough satisfaction, also it is intended that the Festal Fair be more than a dull market place; this will be overcome by the providing of many forms of amusefnent. Altogether the effort promises much local initerest and success.
