THE local Eire Brigade are taking steps to have a Fire Board constituted in Foxton. Thev have invited the Superintendent of Fire Brigades t.) visit them ami discuss the question. If a Board is constituted it will take over the whole (ire control. The cost of equipment and administration will be borne in equal shares by the ratepayers and insurance companies, and a percentage l>y the Government. If a Board were constituted, it would mean an efficient fire-fighting' service, and remove the whole burden of upkeep from the shoulders of the Borough Council and a few voluntary helpers.
